Surprises are so much fun. We have been waiting for the surprise of that long awaited Letter of Acceptance and have not received it so the surprise we did receive so lifted our spirits. We received a "shower in the mail." Wow. I am so overwhelmed but truly not surprised at the love shown us by our Pandamonium Family. For those of you who might not know, our Pandamonium Family is the group we traveled with to adopt Evelyn. We have been truly blessed by the bond we share with these folks and are so thankful for them. We have had two reunions with them and look forward to more. Thank you Pandamonium Family!

I also wanted to say a big thank you to Keisha for redesigning this blog. I never would have taken the time to make it look so nice. Thanks.

Another Great Weekend

Well the weekend followed the pattern of last week. It started out with a very rainy Friday evening but followed with a beautiful Saturday and Sunday. The weather could not have been nicer. We went to Jackson and spent the night at cousin Mason’s. Evelyn and Mason loved being together as always. We went to the annual Bethany Christian Services picnic on Saturday. Bethany is the agency that brought Evelyn to our family. Evelyn once again enjoyed the train ride, fun jumper and most of all horse back riding. We certainly missed the Smith family, Ron , Adele and Mallory. The event was great but just not the same. After playing some more at Mason’s we could not head home without a visit to Bass Pro. The photo of Evelyn and Mason in the tent was at Bass Pro. They walked through the store holding hands. They were too cute. I kind of enjoy plundering around at Bass Pro as well. The turtle was found when we got home from church Sunday. Evelyn is not afraid of critters.

P.S. - I didn't have much time to play with it but I need tips on the slideshow. Hint hint... (Angela is working on this with me.)

God Gave us Evie Day

Well, today is a day of celebration no matter what. Four years ago today changed our lives forever. My how time flies and the joy gets fuller with each day. Certainly through the hand of God, our dear Evelyn was placed in our arms and we immediately became a family. Thank you God for Evelyn.

Weekend

Well who thought there would not be things to blog about? I suppose there is always something. The weekend started out with blah weather but turned out to be so nice. Evelyn finally had her friend Rebekah over to play. (Rebekah was Evelyn's survival tool last year in that first year of preschool. Rebekah is in kindergarten now so they do not get to see each other much.) They get along really well. They made up for missed time and played hard. The activities included a tea party, the swing set, the jammin jeep and much more. We hope they have a little more time together before her family's move to Meridian. East MS is lucky to have this family. I am certainly not used to having two girls in the house. I guess that is a little glimpse of the "near" future. Today was our annual homecoming at our church. The day turned out very well. Bro. Rusty's message gave new thought to the parable of the talents. Evelyn looked too sweet with her doll in its matching dress. I will close with hopes and prayers for news on Emelia in the coming week.

Well, as you see this is not a fancy blog. I will have to take lessons from my friends. I was going to save the first post until we got the next big news on Emelia but it seems like that will never happen. I know there are those out there who know more about waiting than I do but once you have seen that precious face (01/22/08) the waiting is sooooooo hard. We have been expecting our letter of acceptance every day now for a while. We do know it is in God's hands and His timing is perfect. I just have to remind myself of that about once a minute. :)
So, the big event for this first post is Miss Evelyn's registration for kindergarten. It is too hard to believe she will be going to big girl school. Wow. Things went very well and I think she will thrive. She saw several of the kids from her preschool. That helped. She even chatted a little with the adults. Lets hope when August comes she has the same attitude. I posted her picture taken as we were going in (thanks to Angela's camera).
