God Gave us Emelia Day

We had a very good day celebrating this one year anniversary of God bringing Emelia to our family. As planned, Evelyn showered Emelia with the candy bouquet and such a sweet card she made before Emelia got up. It had words relating to God's beautiful plan of making little girls, too sweet. We had lunch out with my niece and sister. One grandma is under the weather and papa had a doctor's appointment, and in case you are wondering, Scott is out of town. We sure wished he had been in on the celebrating. The photo of Emelia just before lunch shows how tired she was. The girls are on their second week of swimming lessons and they go right before lunch. After lunch, Evelyn went back to my sister's flower shop and put some creativity to work. She came home with jewelry, a flower bouquet she arranged with a balloon for Emelia and a corsage that she did all the work on except the bow. I am glad to see her natural talent because I am lacking in that area. Anyway, after work the girls and I played on the slip-n-slide and in their tiny pool. I probably will not be able to move tomorrow. Notice the photo of Emelia on the phone. She loves talking on the phone. Mamaw Flora was getting the run down of the day. It was a very good day!

God's Plan

Well a post is certainly overdue and this one is definitely not one I can miss. The photos here are of one year ago tomorrow (which it will shortly be). I cannot believe how quickly a year goes by. What a change that day was for our family with the addition of Miss Emelia Hui Kimball. Without a doubt, she made our family complete. She has enough spunk and spark so that no moment is dull. God brought together his perfect plan. That is where this post leads. I was overwhelmed when I got out a devotional book I had been using to get to today's title, Our Heavenly Father. The scriptures were in Galations 3 & 4 and included "But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons." Wow, I knew God received me as his own, his child, when I accepted His perfect gift but it was only after becoming a parent myself through adoption that I had a clearer understanding of how much "His own" I am and what it means to call Him "Abba, Father." Thank you God for your adoption plan and for also giving me the blessing of two precious children through adoption.

I will try to share some pictures from the day tomorrow of Emelia. Evelyn has helped create quite a bouquet to begin the celebration.

Beach Bums

It's quite nice to take a break and be a beach bum for a few days. We have had excellent weather and clear water. What else could you ask for? Other than asking for Scott to be with us, that is. He is on a mission trip to Mexico and we are playing away with Aunt Judy and Mamaw. We have had fun. We even did the dolphin cruise. We all enjoyed it but it was certainly a favorite for Evelyn. Everyone needs a break like this every now and again.
