Emelia

Wow, are things wild. We had a holiday from work yesterday due to power relocation and therefore I had no email. Everything happens when you have no email. TAs (travel approvals) arrived at CCAI yesterday. They are in the process of making consulate appointments so we do not have any definites yet but it looks like it will be when we thought, right in the middle of youth camp. The others are trying to leave June 4th and we requested at least one week later so Scott could get things in order for youth camp. We will post details when we know. Now, for the best part. Our new friends from NC are in China and got to visit with Emelia on Friday. Their daughter is from the same SWI. We were so excited to get new photos of her. She has grown. They said she has a cold, poor baby. Enjoy the pictures and we will post more later. :)

5 Years Old

It is too hard to believe but our Evelyn turned 5 on Friday. We had the most wonderful weather for her party on Saturday. Barbie and pink, what else could a girl ask for? Family and friends made the day very special. Thanks to you all.

We did get our passports back today with Visas. Yay! Now all we need is that Travel Approval.

Just some quick notes of the last few days. Evelyn attended her last day of preschool on Friday. The little miss who almost never adjusted to going had crocodile tears when I said it would be her last day. I tried to post two pictures of her with her teachers, Ms. Carrie and Ms. Gwen. We are very thankful for their role in her life the last two years. Saturday, we had a church canoe trip. Evelyn had never been canoeing with us and we thought she was ready. It went very well. The weather was nice and the fellowship even better. When asked, though, Evelyn says she did not like it. She said she did not like the waterfalls. I guess if you are her size it would be a bit much. We had a very good Mother's Day. It is nice to be close enough to both mine and Scott's family.

I certainly have enjoyed that things are not stagnant with this adoption now. Yesterday we got an "update" on Emelia. I was disappointed that there were no new photos but the update was a very nice surprise. I will post a bit of it below. :) Then today we had a travel orientation call. Signed, Sealed and To Be Delivered

Nothing like living in a small town. Whew. It was a marathon at lunch. We ran home and checked for "the package" just before noon. Nothing. Evelyn is staying with Scott's mom today so we went there for lunch. Scott ran back to the house and it had been delivered. We signed it, ran by my office to make copies and then to the drop box at 12:59 with a scheduled 1:00pm pick up. Thankfully the sign said the box was not picked up for today. I tracked it and it was picked up at 1:13. Most of you may not know why this is a serious issue for us. When we adopted Evelyn, this most important letter seeking confirmation was "lost" and not delivered until days later. They used a copy until the original was found so we are both a little OCD in this area. :)

NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I WILL SING, I WILL SHOUT and GLORIFY HIS NAME!!!!!! Got an email from CCAI just a bit ago and ........................"Great news – today we received your “Letter Seeking Confirmation of Adopter” for your child, issued by the CCAA!" Whew!!! It has been a long and hard 94 days since we sent our Letter of Intent. Finally and now we wait for TA. CCAI's official statement on travel is... "At this time our estimate for your travel is five to eight weeks!" I know God has perfect timing but isn't it wild that youth camp is in 5 weeks? It will all work out. Sigh!

Angela fussed at me because I have not posted about my poor sick child. She is on the mend but Evelyn has had a severe bout with bronchitis. She is on two inhalers, nebulizer, steroid, antibiotic and cough medicine. Whew.
